It’s been a tough couple of months for Louisiana’s Boosie Badazz, as he was diagnosed with kidney cancer back in November. Last month, he underwent surgery that removed the cancer from his body, and on New Year’s, he dropped an album that documented the entire ordeal. Now, a few days removed from the LP, he’s debuted a track that didn’t make the cut.
“Cold Hearted” features an appearance from Lyfe Jennings and shows Boosie at his most vulnerable. He was in prison for 5 years, a few that were served on death row, and the cancer diagnosis probably didn’t help his already cold heart. He reflects on his neighborhood and betrayal throughout, making the track extremely personal.
