Now no. 1 single in the country
Last month, Cardi B’s acclaimed hit “Bodak Yellow” reached no. 1 on iTunes charts, and spent a few weeks as the top song on the digital platform. However, with the cut gaining national attention, it was only a matter of time before the buzzing rapper made her claim for a top slot across radio.
Today, it’s been confirmed that Cardi’s breakout hit has officially become the no. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. The song also dethrones Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do,” which spent just three weeks ahead of the field. Through this accolade, she also becomes the first female rapper to rule without any other billed acts, since Lauryn Hill in 1998.
As she gears up for her next major single release, the Bronx native can enjoy the next 7 days as top artist across the states. Look for Cardi to also share album information later this fall.
