Over the last 5 months, we’ve seen Chance the Rapper in collaborative projects with The Social Experiment’s Surf and Lil B’s Free Mixtape, but the Chicago rapper is finally nearing his first solo project roll-out in nearly three years. During a recent interview on Hot 97, Chano touched on his decision not signing to a major record label and how it’s important for him to maintain his integrity as an artist – as well as full publishing and creative control. In comparison to signing a deal for $8 million or more, Chance realizes the position he’s in for the long-term and wouldn’t jeopardize his listeners but most importantly himself for a quick buck.
