Donald Glover To Develop & Star In New FX Music-Themed Comedy Series

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen the other side of Donald Glover in Childish Gambino releasing Centipede and the teaser trailer for the cryptic project Clapping For The Wrong Reasons set to release sometime this week.

In recent years, you’ve seen him on the NBC-hit comedy series Community, as well as writing for 30 Rock in the past; but now Donald will be transcending into a project of his own for FX (starring, writing, and executive producing). The series is tentatively titled “Atlanta” which will show the actor-rapper juggling both careers growing up nearby in Stone Mountain. This year on Community, Donald’s role has been reduced to 5 episodes of the shows shortened season, which he’ll be balancing the show and his music career with a follow-up album to his 2011 project “Camp.”

We’re hoping a new mixtape will be released, being his first since 2012’s “Royalty”; but for now we’re at least intrigued with the offerings he has at the moment. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks regarding his new show, Atlanta.
