EXCLUSIVE: Drake’s CLB Album is Being Mixed, But Here’s Why He Hasn’t Released It Yet

Drake ‘Certified Lover Boy Album’ Mixed Release Date

Being mixed now. . .

Friday night, Drake was on the latest episode of OVO Sound Radio on Sirius XM Radio. While the Toronto camp didn’t premiere any new music yet, the Boy shared some major news. After teasing collaborations with Nicki Minaj last week, he confirmed that his long-awaited Certified Lover Boy album was officially being mixed and mastered.

This usually happens when the project is 99% complete and ready to go. However, we’re under the impression that a possible last second major collaboration is in the works. If you remember last week, footage from Drake’s Too Sexy music video with Future and Young Thug surfaced. With that track set to arrive in the next few weeks, we could see a possible project announcement from OVO Sound.

Now, the million-dollar question is why hasn’t the project been released date. Drake is under tremendous pressure not to deliver a lackluster project and doesn’t want to have anything tarnish his legacy. Due to pressures of the pandemic from fans and media this year, him and 40 have been carefully narrowing down content to present the best project they can.

So, Drake is scared of releasing an album that isn’t up to his standard of past classic content. Considering he’s been one of the rapper’s lead the game for the last 12 consecutive years, that streak of countless records isn’t something he’s ready to let go yet. We’re not expecting anything short of amazing for the album arriving sometime before September.

Disclaimer: Drake starts at 1:48:20 after 2pac.
