It was only a matter of time before Drake topped the Hot 100 charts on his own. Billboard has announced that Drizzy has finally scored his first number one single as a solo artist with “One Dance,” the track featuring Wizkid and Kyla. The song replaces Desiigner’s “Panda” at the top and puts him back there for the first time since Rihanna’s “Work” reigned supreme earlier this year. As a lead artist, the highest Drake reached previously was number two with “Best I Ever Had” in 2009 and “Hotline Bling” last year.
In addition, Drake’s new album Views debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, moving 1.04 million units made up of 852,000 traditional sales. A video for “One Dance” is currently being filmed.
