Eminem Reveals He’s Still Trying to Make a Better Album Than ‘The Marshall Mathers LP’

This weekend, Eminem and Paul Rosenberg are celebrating the 20th anniversary of, The Slim Shady LP. Beforehand, Em met up with Sway Colloway for an exclusive interview on Oculus & Samsung Gear VR platforms. In the 20-minute conversation, Em and Sway drive through downtown Detroit to reminisce on his earlier days in the game, as well as trying get inside the door.

Shady cited Detroit’s perception from other established cities as the key motivation for himself and others to have a distinct sound. However, in the later stages of the conversation, some eye-raising things were said about his current career. Em went to say that he’s still chasing the ghost of his The Marshall Mathers LP and wants to make a better album than it. Shady cited that he’s no longer in a dark space, like he was back then – but has the exact same passion to hit the booth.
