Faith Evans covers J. Cole’s “Be Free” during a Pillars of Justice Medley

Plenty of extraordinary talents graced the stage at BET’s “Black Girls Rock!” event on Sunday evening. One of the many standout performances came when Faith Evans hit the stage and performed a soulful cover of J. Cole‘s Ferguson tribute song, “Be Free.” Throughout the emotional performance, images of protesters holding “Black Lives Matter” signs flashed on the big screens behind the R&B songstress.
Other performances from the night came from Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Ciara, and Fantasia and Lalah Hathaway, both of which are featured in the clip above along with Faith.
