Prior to her single and video releasing last week, Gwen Stefani gave Ellen an exclusive listen and look. The talk show host loved the song and video so much that she asked Gwen to come to her show to perform it for her studio audience, of course she obliged. Today, the singer-songwriter made her appearance on The Ellen Show where she performed “Used to Love You” live for the first televised performance of the single. The emotional ballad takes inspiration by Stefani’s divorce from ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, after their 13-year marriage. It was co-written by Gwen, Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels along with the songs producer J.R. Rotem.
