Earlier this week, Top Dawg gave fans an update on whether or not new material from the TDE camp would be arriving. With Jay Rock recovering from his life-threatening motorcycle incident last month, the CEO revealed that ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul were in the final stages of their upcoming efforts, while Isaiah Rashad and SZA were deep into their creative processes as well.
However, with the exception of the rumored Black Hippy album arriving next year, Kendrick Lamar’s name was also listed on the board, with question marks next listed – as fans had the same reaction of an immediate follow-up to his critically-acclaimed To Pimp A Butterfly project arriving.
After the news, Top confirmed that a new project from the camp would be releasing at some point this week, but didn’t say who. Well, digital streaming service, Spotify, may have prematurely revealed the big surprise, as a new Kendrick Lamar EP has been spotted. The 8-track untitled unmastered. project showcases no features or track names, but album artwork was unveiled.
