This weekend is officially the celebration of Jermaine Dupri’s “So So Def 20th anniversary” as the entire crew will be performing at the Fox Theater in ATL for a special concert tomorrow night. If you’re in Georgia, it might be something you might want to be a part of with a slew of your favorite celebrities hitting the A for the weekend.
Beforehand, here we get Jermaine Dupri as he reflects on his top 10 “So So Def” hits over the years including the Da Brat, Bow Wow, Anthony Hamilton, Dem Franchise Boyz, Kris Kross, INOJ and The Ghost Town DJs. He also touches on starting the label with Xscape going straight to R&B to be the first person to make R&B and Hip-Hop coexist.
He also touches on coming up with the concept for Jagged Edge’s “Let’s Get Married” during a late night conversation with a former girlfriend which she basically wrote the chorus for him and J.E. during their talk.
