Esteban Serrano of FuseTV caught up with Joey Bada$$ as we got some inside info on what he’s working on right now including building bonds with Pete Rock, DJ Premier and Q-Tip with no discussion on a new mixtape or the official album. Joey feels he’s at the forefront of the NEW New York movement citing Biggie, Jigga, Nas, Boot Camp Click, MF Doom and Wu-Tang as influences of him to keep his music sounding authentic.
Esteban brought up his lyrics on A$AP Rocky’s “1 Train” which Joey said he was in talks with Roc Nation which for right now he felt having his independence is the best thing for him and the Pro-Era crew right now.
He closes out the interview with speaking on people wanting him to take on roles for a reboot of “Juice,” but is waiting on Spike Lee to deliver a new project which he would be willing to make that transition to the big screen.
