Jon Brion Breaks Down the Making of Mac Miller’s ‘Circles’ Album

Last Friday saw the release of Mac Miller‘s final studio album, Circles. Mac sadly passed away before finishing it, but producer Jon Brion, who worked with him on the project and Swimming, was asked by Mac’s family to put the finishing touches on it.

Jon recently sat down with Zane Lowe to break down each song on the album, filmed at Conway Recording Studios where the music was recorded. The producer talked about everything from the first time he met Mac, to stories about their time together in the studio.

For those who don’t know, Jon has worked with the likes of Kanye West, Fiona Apple and Frank Ocean, and scored films like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Punch-Drunk Love and Lady Bird to name a few.
