Be prepared to get familiar with an upcoming artist named Jon Waltz. The chances are that this is your first time hearing the 17-year-old from Memphis, but there’s no doubt that he possesses plenty of talent in just under three minutes with “Bang (Left My Home).” The track may sound a little raspy at first, but you’ll begin to realize that it only makes it that much better. Both his singing and rapping abilities are clearly enhanced by the evocatively mellow production provided by affiliated producer Zayd. There may still be a long way to go for the new sound, but we’re definitely ready to see what’s next.
