EXCLUSIVE: The Reason Kendrick Lamar will Never Leave TDE & Why Top Dawg is Most Loyal to Artists

Stop playing with TDE’s name!

Kendrick Lamar leaving TDE rumors breakdown is explained, after his recent blackout on social media with a blues clues bear. For whatever reason, someone with nothing to do, ran a story saying that Kendrick Lamar had left Top Dawg Entertainment. The assumption and misinformation, was because of his Instagram being cleared, with the exception of last spring’s pgLang company announcement.

K. Dot and Dave Free went to breakdown how the company will be based on music, film, television, art, books, and even podcasts. However, many are still of the belief that K. Dot is leaving Top Dawg Entertainment, with fans growing impatient for new content. That’s not the case, because no one is TDE is allowed to put out mediocre content; without an official co-sign from the boss himself. Top is very selective with releasing music, as well as deciding who he wants apart of the family.

So, any one that comes into the fold, remains loyal and is a hard worker is set for life. This ties back into Kendrick Lamar, as Top gave Dot a piece of ownership of the label. Yes, Kendrick Lamar owns a portion of Top Dawg Entertainment. The percentage will forever remain a mystery, but Top is one of the only bosses in music history, to compensate an artist of the level like Kendrick Lamar for label ownership.

This has never happened in the history of hip-hop (we’re sure other genres as well); with a label owner breaking bread with the marquee artist that took him to the next level. We’re assuming that move spoke volumes to those close to the situation, as well as inspiring the camp to keep working. Those of you waiting for projects like Isaiah Rashad and Zay should be intrigued for what to expect in follow-up to REASON’s praised album, New Beginnings.

You can’t leave something that you own.
