KES – Carry On

Compton is currently on fire, with Kendrick Lamar leading the pack and putting on for the city. We’ve seen plenty of artists come out and represent, but none in R&B. Meet KES, an up and comer from the CPT that has the type of sound built for radio.

He just released an EP titled Audio Justice, a 5-track project showcasing his sound that draws inspiration from legends like Prince, Phil Collins, Depeche Mode and Rick James. One of the standout tracks from his effort is “Carry On,” the slower tempo track that can get any late night session with your girl started.

The rest of the project rounds out with more Pop oriented tracks, haunting chopped R&B, explicit bedroom music and ’80s infused records.

Peep and let us know what you think.
