June 7 is now Skateboard P day in Virginia Beach!
Over the weekend, Pharrell visited his hometown of Virginia Beach, Virginia where he attended a homecoming event at his Alma mater Princess Anne High School.
While there, the “Happy” singer took the stage and spoke to the students to tell them about the importance of education and urged them to pay attention. He also spoke about the major role his teachers played in his many achievements he’s earned throughout his illustrious career. The one he spoke most highly about was his band teacher, Alan Sharps who he said always believed in him and pushed him to succeed.

He was overjoyed and honored to receive it.
