Latrell James is going places. In his first move of the year, the Boston rapper is sharing an impressive new track called “Tracphone.” The song is produced by himself, and finds him flexing his vocal delivery (hello André 3000?!) and speaking on feeling distant from a place he once felt at home.
“‘Tracphone’ to me is when you no longer feel like you belong in a place where you grew up,” James told Wonderland Magazine. “It’s those lone footprints in the snow. Gentrification takes a toll on communities of colour and I wanted make light of that while also highlighting other important issues that affect us too.”
We’re excited to hear more.
