Tuenchi conducts a rare radio interview in the midst of label issues

As Lil Wayne looks to continue his career in the mainstream with the long-awaited release of his Tha Carter V LP, he conducted a rare interview with Wild Wayne – following the announcement of his Lil Weezyana Fest last night. During the 30-minute conversation, he couldn’t speak on the situation with Ca$h Money due to legal reasons but open up on his new deal with TIDAL for the recent Free Weezy Album, which non-coincidentally dropped on America’s Independence Day over the weekend. Tunechi also touched on his early days at Ca$h Money, which he revealed Juvenile being his biggest supporter, as Birdman was skeptical on a few of his verses.

With Juve constantly telling to stay true to his rhymes (and even personally calling him the best rapper of the Hot Boys), Wayne detailed how it would help him perfect his craft down the line. Listen to more from the conversation, where Tunechi shares his opinion of Young Thug’s recent Barter 6 mixtape, being skeptical of signing Drake in 2008, instantly gravitating towards Nicki Minaj and advice from one of his biggest supporters JAY Z.
