New York City is already suffering the consequences of the recent shootings at a T.I. concert at Irving Plaza that left one man dead, several injured and Troy Ave at the center of it all.
According to Rolling Stone, several shows at Irving Plaza that included acts like Joey Bada$$, Mac Miller and Vince Staples, as well appearances by YG, Guns N’ Roses cover band Appetite For Destruction and the rock duo Black Pistol Fire taking place at Gramercy Theater have been cancelled due to last week’s tragedy. Live Nation said this of their decision to cancel:
“In light of last week’s tragic event, we are acting with an overabundance of caution and coordinating a going forward strategy with the New York Police Department that may also include a curfew.”
Some events have already switched venues, but it seems like rap shows in Manhattan will be missing in action until further notice. How long it lasts? Only time will tell.
