Murs is gearing up for the release of his brand new album Captain California next Friday, March 10th, which will serve as the follow-up to 2015’s Have a Nice Life. Ahead of its release, he’s tackling mental illness and police brutality head-on with the video for the lead single, “GBKW (God Bless Kanye West).”
“We pray for each other and I believe in the power of prayer, but we could really use more mental health professionals in our community instead of mocking Kanye West,” Murs says. “He’s having problems and he’s having to work through it. He’s like a football player playing hurt, to me.”
