Are you ready to hear the late Pimp C over production from DJ Mustard and Mike WiLL Made It? Whether you like it or not, it’s happening. Today, it was announced that the newly launched Mass Appeal Records will be releasing a posthumous Pimp C album, as well as Nas‘ Lost Tapes 2 once everything is merged over from the label that was formerly known as DECON.
Mass Appeal Records will be distributed by Sony RED, who won the bidding war over the label and will serve as a subsidiary of Mass Appeal, the magazine. As it was previously reported, Nas has invested in Mass Appeal, which is why he is taking his talents over to the new label after his contract with Def Jam is a wrap later this year.

The label has been rumored to have signed up and coming acts Boldy James, Fashawn and Bishop Nehru in the past few months, all of which made appearances with Nas/Mass Appeal at SXSW in Austin, TX earlier this year.
Peter Bittenbender & Jason Goldwatch will head Mass Appeal Records, who is looking to become as diverse as XL Records and will be looking to house DJ’s, EDM acts and producers as well as the Hip-Hop artists on its roster. Stay tuned for a compilation from the label to kick things off and be released later this year, featuring friends of the brand.
