Nelly Arrested on Felony Drug Charges

The St. Louis rapper has been arrested on possession charges

Early Saturday morning, rapper-actor Nelly was traveling through Tennessee’s I-40 and was pulled over by a local state trooper. According to state authorities, the rapper and five other people in his entourage were pulled over due to not having U.S. Department of Transportation and International Fuel Tax Association stickers on their bus.

Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Haynes; was charged with felony possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of marijuana. In the statement released from the scene, troopers found “five colored crystal-type rocks that tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as a small amount of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.” Further findings included several handguns: a .500 Smith & Wesson magnum, a .45-caliber Taurus pistol and a gold-plated .50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol.

After being taken to to the Putnam County Jail with a passenger, Nelly soon posted bond and left the jail.
