The birthplace of hip-hop, mecca of the universe and even “the city that never sleeps” are some of the descriptive phrases that New York City is most known for. Tourists are mostly in awe of the bright lights; but it’s not all glitz and glamor when you touch down in the rotten apple. Growing up in the melting pot, some of us survived the street life, while others became of it, but now we’re used to catching dollar cabs to fuck with the fly Spanish chicks from time to time whenever we’re back home.
In light of Fabolous’ latest ode to the city, we felt like it was appropriate and necessary to pay homage to New York, as we share our favorite records from the empire state.
