PSG vs. M.I.A.
In a letter sent last month, PSG have asked M.I.A. to take down her video for “Borders” due to the fact that it features her wearing the team’s shirt. The clip, which was released in November, tackles the refugee crisis across Europe, but Paris Saint-Germain deputy CEO Jean-Claude Blanc isn’t at all pleased with the image it’s giving them; the jersey also changes the club’s sponsor Fly Emirates to “Fly Pirates.”
Obviously, PSG didn’t quite realize what they were getting into (or did they?), because M.I.A. has posted the fuller letter on Twitter. If she refuses to cooperate (which looks likely), it looks like the club will take matters further.
