It’s SremmLife 3 season and you can tell because Rae Sremmurd are everywhere. They’re all over ESPN, streaming services and just dropped three singles for fans. A group track, a solo record by Swae Lee and one by Slim Jxmmi.
In a talk with Billboard, the Ear Drummas duo talk about their upcoming tour with Childish Gambino, what they want to accomplish from the SR3MM album and why the triple album is some of the best music they’ve ever made.
They also spoke on why they decided to drop three discs at one time.
What made you guys want to do a triple disc for SremmLife 3?
Jxmmi: We wanted to give y’all something different because it’s one side saying, “Man, this person should go solo,” so why don’t we just end the argument and give it to you, and then give you Rae Sremmurd so you can see why we are Rae Sremmurd and who we are as individuals.
Swae: People don’t even know I can sing, or they’re just finding out, so I’m gonna take advantage of that. Jimmi’s gonna give them that rapping, and I might rap a little too.
