Many have become very familiar with WondaGurl over the years as she has secured production placements with artists like JAY Z, Drake, Travis Scott, Rihanna and many others. Today, the Toronto beat-smith links up with Mass Appeal to take part in their hit series Rhythm Roulette. The cameras follow her to Rotate This in Toronto where she picks three records at random while blindfolded.
Back at the studio, WondaGurl runs through the records in which she picked, Solid Sound’s “A Wooden Box,” Images In Vogue’s “In The House,” and The Magnolias’ Concrete Pillbox. After putting the latter to the side, she chooses the other two records as the ones she’s going to sample and sticks to the sound she’s known for and cooks up a bass heavy beat.
