Growing up in Baltimore, there’s bound to be a difference in lifestyle compared to those living in California. Rickie Jacobs’ first sense of hip-hop from that area of the US was through Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg at 10 years of age, with his father finally introducing him to their music after his mother hadn’t allowed him to do so in the past. To pay homage in the right way, the rapper has chosen to piece together a set of rhymes over the classic “Deep Cover” instrumental, acting somewhat of a bizarre move at an early stage of his career, but one that shows confidence at the same time.
