There used to be a band named Black Mountain we were really into, back when they dropped their album In The Future in 2008. They were signed to Jagjaguwar. Ever since, we’ve semi-frequently kept up with the releases from other acts on their label. They house the likes of Bon Iver, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Volcano Choir.
Sharon Van Etten is also on the label and she has an album on the way May 27 titled Are We There. While we may have completely missed her debut effort, we came across this chill single “Taking Chances” today and quickly became curious as to what she may have on the way. It’s something about the mellowness and eeriness of her vocals during the late night that attracted our ears to this record.
Roll one, spark it and you’ll definitely hear a bit of psychedelia to this track.
