The Drake and Kendrick Lamar Beef Almost Got Real

drakekendricklamar

We are so far removed from tension between Drake and Kendrick Lamar that we forgot they were even slightly beefing at one point. The subliminals still make us wonder, though.

Coming from the most random of sources, SportsNation‘s Marcellus Wiley happened to throw his two cents in the fire on ESPN 710AM’s Max and Marcellus radio show.

It really started after a commercial break off-air, when they cut back into the program and Marcellus asked one of the guys in the studio whether he prefers K Dot or Drizzy. Everyone then argued what “artist” meant and who they play the most, then bottled it down to who’s catalog would be better on a deserted island. That’s when Wiley decided to cryptically mention that the beef between the two almost went nuclear when one of the artists did an interview talking about the other, but management had the evidence deleted to prevent the beef from happening.

“I can’t say what I wanna say, but I’m gonna say it anyways because my contract is up and this might give me more money. All I know is there was a beef, and all I know is I was witness to when the beef would have ignited to proportions we have not seen since Ja Rule and 50? Maybe even Ice Cube/N.W.A. Like it went there. But that was destroyed from everyone’s property. That was destroyed, that interview, that moment was destroyed. That’s all I’m gonna say. But I was there and I heard the shots fired.”

Again, he was asked where the shots came from (North or West) but he wouldn’t divulge on details. So here were are, still wondering what’s good. Maybe we’ll never know. It’s a good fun fact to know, though. Hopefully someone goes on a fishing expedition and details surface.
