It wasn’t until several albums into their career that Cincinnati’s The National were beginning to get recognized for their very own brand, whilst clearly trying to make themselves known with a bunch of talent to bring to the table. Their revival of a popular indie-rock sound is arguably stretched to a notable punk influence within, and their critically acclaimed Boxer peaking in 2007 allowed just a sense of realism to settle.
Three years after their previous album, the band return with Trouble Will Find Me, a 13-track project that can now be streamed in its entirety. The body of work sounds as wholesome as they’ve ever been, and will be available to purchase on May 21st via 4AD.
