The Revelations – I Forgot To Be Your Lover (feat. Tre Williams)

While everyone awaits for the Kanye West “White Dress” track from The Man With The Iron Fists soundtrack, today we get “I Forgot To Be Your Lover,” William Bell’s 1968 soul classic has been newly recorded for the soundtrack album by The Revelations, the Brooklyn-based soul band fronted by vocalist Tre Williams. The Revelations, together for four years, have made a name for themselves as advocates of classic soul for the hip-hop generation. In addition to this record, The Revelations contributed their musicianship to the backing tracks of four other songs on the soundtrack album: “Black Out”, “Built for This” (the album’s first single), “The Archer” and “Six Directions of Boxing.”

Produced by Bob Perry.
