Loaded Lux vs. Murda Mook | Joe Budden vs. Hollow Da Don are showcased in “Bright Lights” documentary.
Tomorrow, Eminem’s first ever battle rap event will partake at Hammerstein Ballroom, dubbed Total Slaughter. Before the big PPV, however, the emcees are featured in an official lead-in documentary centered on the Joe Budden and Hollow Da Don face-off, as well as the epic rematch between Loaded Lux and Murda Mook.
While the battle of Harlem supremacy may be the real main event for the hardcore audience – casual observers and media is highlighting the Joey and Hollow’s meeting, which is a big chunk of the documentary. Before Budden gained notoriety from the mixtape scene DJ Clue and Desert Storm in the early 2000s, he was indeed a battler before in the Joisey streets.
The problem with Joey’s return to battling is he’s not facing a lightweight in the arena, but the best overall emcee in all of battle rap. He revealed earlier his confidence on taking all bets above a stack for Saturday night, but the safe pick at the moment is Hollow. We do have to commend Budden for breaking down the barrier on a main stage with main stream and underground, but somebody will have to take an L at Total Slaughter.
