Tupac Shakur’s Mother Passes Away at 69

RIP Afeni Shakur

Late last night in Marin County, the mother of Tupac Shakur, Afeni Shakur sadly passed away in her home. According to reports, the 69-year-old social activist and former member of the Black Panther Party suffered a possible cardiac arrest – as she was taken a hospital and died just before 10:30pm local time. In recent year, she maintained full control of the estate of her son, including helping oversee his upcoming biopic, All Eyez on Me, which concluded filming just last week.

It’s deeply saddening to see her pass away before the theatrical release of the movie, but we know she’s in a better place with her son. RIP Afeni Shakur & Tupac Shakur.
