Throughout you’re listening session of Kanye West‘s new single “Only One,” you may have noticed some additional background vocals provided by none other than West Coast hitmaker, Ty Dolla $ign. During a recent discussion with Billboard‘s The Juice, TY explained what the recording session with ‘Ye and Paul McCartney was like and details how the collaboration came about. He also spoke on taking advantage of the opportunity by getting at least nine songs completed during his two day studio session with the legends in Mexico — one in particular being a collaboration with Yeezy, Sir Paul and Rihanna and revealed that the record could be the next single we receive from the Chicago rapper. He also stated that a music video was already shot for the single and we should be expecting it pretty soon.
What was the recording process like?
[In] like 24 hours, [we recorded] seven songs or nine songs that day. I was like, ‘I’m here with Kanye, I’m not gonna waste my time.’ They really wanted me to stay for like a week, but I only had like two days, ’cause I was about to start the [Under the Influence of Music] tour.
What can you tell me about the other songs you worked on with ‘Ye?
Me, Rihanna, ‘Ye and Paul [Mc Cartney] got a song about to drop as well…It’s featured on ‘Ye’s album?
Yeah. It’s gonna drop soon. I heard they shot the video recently. I don’t know what the final title is, but I know it’s crazy so just be looking out for [it].
