Last night saw a VERZUZ battle for two R&B divas. Monica faced Brandy in the latest battle and it was one to remember. Before anything started, the duo tribute to Chadwick Boseman. Then, Kamala Harris called in to thank them for their support. Plus, she praised their music.
Over a million people tuned into the battle on Instagram Live and during their event, the two spoke on their feud in the past and gave each other heartfelt words. As they put it, they hadn’t spoken to each other in about eight years before the battle. Monica also spoke on C-Murder’s incarceration and spoke on prison reform. Brandy also read poems during the live event.
Both played classics and some rounds felt like they could go either way.
At the end of it, the fans came out the winners. They witnessed to R&B veterans play good music and they took it back to the good days. Who do you think won?
