It has been about 10 days after Justin Timberlake dropped the bomb online and debuted the stream of The 20/20 Experience on iTunes. His stans jumped on the opportunity to listen to the album before it hit stores like a pack of rabid wolves on a carcass, while others caught up through other mediums like Saturday Night Live, his week-long takeover on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, secret show at SXSW, or word of mouth, etc.
The fact of the matter is, sales projections for JT’s album in his first week are in the 800K range right now and we’re absolutely sure they’re climbing. This guy really went in for the kill in the promo game for his third album. Timbaland got back to his old self on the production side, and it seems like Justin stepped the bar up on all fronts, as far as new-age releases go. This album release was a true mastermind strategy that worked, and it shows by the fact that fans flocked to the store to cop (almost a million) in his first week.
