Willow Smith has come a long way from “Whip My Hair.” Much like her brother, Jaden, Willow has been experimenting with new sounds since her breakout year and records that followed. Her latest tune “F Q-C #7” came to us a just a couple weeks ago as an exclusive via JAY Z’s TIDAL streaming service. We had no idea that it was the first taste of what we could be expecting from the young singers yet-to-be titled debut album.
The video, in which she co-directed alongside Mike Vargas, follows Willow into a winderness setting where she sports tribal paint on her face. She also heads to the city and many versions of herself are in-front of a white backdrop, as she plays the instrumentals that make up the beat. The different versions of herself represent her Chakras” as she explained to the FADER. “The different Me’s represent my Chakras. Yellow is Self-confidence, Blue is my voice (song), Red is my survival instinct, and the Black is a combination of everything (the true me).”
