Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def) is reworking his album The Ecstatic, and his DJ is leading the way. DJ Preservation serves as Bey’s DJ and producer and has worked on the Tru3Magic and The Ecstatic projects, so re-working the album front to back shouldn’t be much of a problem, as we expect the finished product to sound just as funky as this remix does. The REcstatic will feature all 16 tracks from The Ecstatic as well as an unreleased bonus cut of “Casa Bey”, produced by Minnesota.
The REcstatic will be available for download sometime in mid-May.
