There was a big focus on the election last week, with plenty of Americans glued to the results. In between Joe Biden and President Donald Trump winning states, plenty hit the streets to celebrate the President-Elect. The projections were coming in for states like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and folks were celebrating in the streets.
In the meantime, many were playing songs, one of which was the pre-Trump anti-Trump anthem “FTD.”
Starting on November 3, the day of the presidential election, the YG and Nipsey Hussle single started getting a lot of play. Over the course of the week, it’s play tally kept going up, seeing massive gains on streaming.
It was enough to make the song go No. 1 on iTunes.
On the day Joe Biden was projected President-Elect because Pennsylvania was considered a state he won, the streams for “FTD” were up 740%.
The song was everywhere. Even on CNN loud and clear. It was an awesome sight to see.
