10 Things Phil Jackson Can Do To Resurrect The Knicks

In order to win a championship, you must have at least one superstar player on your roster, and luckily the New York Knicks have the blueprint down with Carmelo Anthony. Following the blockbuster trade with Denver for Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, and Raymond Felton, Carmelo’s time in New York hasn’t been what we were initially expecting.

After enduring a messy situation with Mike D’Antoni his first two years with the team and having championship aspirations last year (unfortunately spoiled by the Miami Heat and his former co-captain Amar’e Stoudemire battling injuries the last 3 seasons), he’s somewhat become the scapegoat of Penn Plaza. He’s been vocal about wanting to test free agency throughout this season, but after the arrival of Phil Jackson in March, he’s had an official change of heart.

This year we’ve seen Melo’s played more minutes in his career than ever before, averaging 28 points a game, the highest 3 point percentage he’s seen yet. Plus he’s remained injury free for the entire year. Unless the Knicks want to rebuild all over again from scratch, re-signing Carmelo this summer is top priority heading forward.
