Restructure Amare’s Contract

In the last 3 years, we’ve seen Amar’e Stoudemire go from a franchise superstar player, to being plagued with injuries. Whether people want to admit it or not, without Amar’e signing with the Knicks back in 2010, the team wouldn’t have been a viable option for players wanting to come to New York. The irony in all of that is that with NYC being the mecca of basketball and media capital of the world, it doesn’t necessarily reflect a player’s decisions, unless they have friends on the team. In recent weeks, Amar’e has been showing signs of legit potential to be a 3rd or 4th contributor for the team headed forward.

Having a great role player like Stoudemire, who’s seasoned and moreso a big man, is essential to not only the Knicks, but any team in the NBA. The only thing we’re afraid of is his willingness to accept a reduced role, especially if he’s having a monster game.
