2013 NBA Playoffs 1st Round Preview

(2) New York Knicks vs. (7) Boston Celtics
Season Series: Knicks 3-1

Possibly the most intriguing series in the East is between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics. This classic rivalry may have finally shifted in the favor of New York, as they had an amazing season and were able to secure the 2 seed in the playoffs. One thing is for sure, though, we have come to learn that you can never count out the Boston Celtics.

They have had a very up and down yeah that was crippled with Rajon Rondo’s season ending injury. They were able to rally around Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to reach the playoffs, where we know anything can happen. They are going up against a Knicks team that has never looked better.

Carmelo Anthony is playing the best basketball of his career and the Knickerbockers have the most solid squad in recent history. Due to thei depth and the Celtics current state, we see this series tipping towards New York. That is not saying the series won’t be 8 shades of awesome, though. It will be a very physical affair and the epitome of playoff basketball. We see this one going 6 or maybe even 7 games but the Knicks will ultimately advance to the 2nd round.
