More Rest For Pitchers
After a long an exhausting inning, a pitcher is in dire need of a break. With him being up before the third out is made, that much needed rest isn’t always guaranteed for him to regroup and take the mound the next inning with a positive mindset in order to settle in on the mound. Most pitchers settle in early, but can always fall victim to a bad inning that leaves them less confident in what they knew they have in them to keep the other team from putting numbers on the board. So in turn, they force themselves through an inning, which isn’t always the best thing.
