Network TV doesn’t require a premium subscription

In the past, if you wanted to watch championship bouts outside of Pay-Per-View, the only way to do was on HBO or Showtime. Both networks require a monthly subscription fee, which is something that’s been steadily becoming lost in the digital era of watching TV. In the past, we had no issues paying for either premium network, but due to the rise of both channels receiving standalone services this year – it may be time to think of a new way for boxing to get its marquee matches to the public.

Premier Boxing Champions has already partnered on a multi-year deal with ABC, CBS, NBC and Spike TV. Every one of the previously announced channels is included in every basic standard cable or satellite package, which is convenient for any boxing fan on a budget. With implementing a commercial system after every round for sponsors to pay for ad-time each fight, PBC could actually be making more on free fights than Golden Boy or Top Rank on their respective premium networks. Trending topics on twitter also obviously helps generate more attention to the upstart promotion gaining heavy buzz.
