Meet MLB Commissioner, Rob Manfred
Over the weekend, Bud Selig officially stepped down after 23 years as the commissioner of Major League Baseball. With the game seeing an all-time low in popularity, newly appointed commish Rob Manfred is looking to finally improve the game and make it appealing once again to the mainstream and youth.
During a conversation with ESPN, Mr. Manfred opened up on having recent positive dialogue with Alex Rodriguez and how he’s forgiven the New York Yankees designated hitter after coming clean to using PEDs in the past. While Rob only has 5 years in his first term to make an impression to those within the MLB and most all fans, he’s taking a forgive-and-forget approach to those who have served suspensions after previously cheating the game.
Whether or not that enables the likes of Pete Rose, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens or Sammy Sosa to be voted into to the hall-of-fame remains to be seen, but Rob Manfred is definitively stepping away from the ‘traditional’ way of doing things in baseball – to make things more modernized. Learn more on how the new commissioner plans to change a few things to improve baseball and brief game of word association.
