Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez Headline 2015 MLB Hall of Fame Class

Meet this year’s Cooperstown class for MLB Hall-of-Fame!

For the first time since 1955, baseball writers have elected four players to National Baseball Hall of Fame. Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio were among the legends to get their big placed into Cooperstown, NY this July 26th. The five-time Cy Young Award Winner, Johnson was selected to a non-surprising 97.3 percent of the vote on 549 ballots. Martinez and Smoltz also gain the internal achievement on their first-ballot; but Houston Astros catcher, Craig Biggio finally made it to the Cooperstown on his third year on ballots. Jack Morris was eliminated from the hall due to his ballot expiring after 15 years of eligibility.

Mike Piazza was shy of 28 votes on his third year and is likely to get his induction next year. Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Curt Schilling, Jeff Bagwell, Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa were some of the standout names, who once again didn’t make the final cut – due to their linkage to performance enhancement drugs.
