Friday night, Allen Iverson received his official induction into and as many expected, he had an emotional speech that brought nearly everyone in the room to tears. From crediting his Georgetown University coach, John Thompson, as the man who saved his life – the Answer soon thanked his many coaches from Larry Brown and others who were male influences during his 20s.
He also shared a story on first meeting Michael Jordan, and how he was star struck on meeting his idol on the court, before the infamous crossover. Speaking of former on-court friends, Ivy also mentioned his friends of Shaquille O’Neal, LeBron James, Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant and of course Tyron Lue as a brief comedic relief from the serious moment he was having.
