For those who though that Andre Iguodala was only being rested by the Golden State Warriors to have him nice and fresh for the NBA Finals, your theories may have been wrong. The team has announced today that Iggy will not be playing in Game 1 against the Cleveland Cavaliers tomorrow.
Iguodala has missed the past four games with a left lateral leg contusion, which he suffered in the Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets.
The Warriors medical staff stated that Iggy continues to have pain in his leg, as well as inflammation of the nerve in the left knee.
Andre is an intergral part of Dub Nation’s “death lineup” and a huge boost on defense for Golden State, but the team managed to beat the Rockets without him throughout the course of seven games.
Considering they’re playing a very undermanned Cavs squad, it could be an easier path to a series win against them than it was against Houston.
Jordan Bell and/or Kevon Looney have been playing solid in his absence.
