Anthony Davis has been dominating sports headlines the past few days, with speculation running rampant about which team would trade for him, trade packages that would work and how this would affect the NBA in the long run.
Though this marriage looks like its headed towards a messy divorce, it seems like AD has one destination in mind and it’s on the West Coast with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Anthony Davis and agent Rich Paul are expected to release a statement soon that AD’s preferred destination is the Los Angeles Lakers, and that he will be a rental for any other team until 2020, via ESPN.

According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, the Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors are plotting to make a move for Davis before the trade deadline, to try to pair him with superstars like Kawhi Leonard and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Based on the previous report, it doesn’t seem like The Brow would resign with either team because he has his eyes set on the Lakers, but that’s what everyone thought of Paul George. As well all know, AD wants to go to a team that can contend for the championship and both of those Eastern Conference teams are on the cusp.
Meanwhile, in New Orleans, Alvin Gentry responded to the Davis news by saying that he has to block out the noise going on and focus on a win tonight.
It’ll be interesting how this plays and if it even does before the trade deadline.
UPDATE: The NBA has fined Anthony Davis $50,000 for violating the league’s collective bargaining agreement by saying he “wants to be traded to a team that allows him a chance to win consistently and compete for a championship” through his agent Rich Paul.
Pelicans star Anthony Davis has been fined $50,000 for his representative, Rich Paul, going on the record for trade request, violating CBA. https://t.co/oYex8zL1O3
